How to use:
Lather with water in your hands, and rub bar between your wet hands. Natural lather and foaming will occur. Rub bar and/or foam all over your body. Wash off once cleansed.
We recommend that you break pieces off your full size bar and use a little bit at a time to make your bar last longer. Keep out of water, and allow to dry completely after use.

Not suited for my hair!
Posted by Unknown on 11th Nov 2016
I definitely would not recommend this product for anyone who doesn't have VERY dry hair. I have dry frizzy hair and hoped this would give me some moisture to tame the frizz. I can usually go 3 days without shampoo, but after the first use my hair was very greasy looking by mid-day. Pretty bummed I didn't get the great results other customers had. I'm not too find of the smell or results given, maybe I'll give it to a friend.
HS reply: We're so sorry to hear of your results. We really do thank you for giving feedback. You're correct it's not for all hair types and we really recommend for dry hair. To tame frizzies our Organic Argan oil works amazing on that. The shampoo bars we carry don't tame frizzies unfortunately. In the meantime you can also do a ACV rinse just to get your hair back to a more normal state. - Khadija
Left my hair shiny and smooth

I bought three shampoo bars, since I am new to the natural shampoo world, and wanted to see how they would work for my hair. I have thick, color-treated, wavy hair that I'm trying to grow out to my natural color. I've been dealing with dry scalp issues my entire life. After a lot of research, I found these products, and I love them! I have this bar, the Soapnuts bar, and the Moroccan Clay bar, and I find that rotating between them works best for my hair. I was worried that this would be too rich for me, but it worked well. I prefer the Soapnuts bar if I want more of a lather/cleansing experience, but all three are great. I've been following the directions to cut a small piece off. This works well and is economical. Additionally, I've added an apple cider vinegar rinse. We have hard water in our area, and with my dry scalp issues, it's been the perfect way to finish the shampoo. Thank you so much for your great products!
Cocoveda Shampoo Bar

I received this product as a sample along with my order. I must say that I love this product. It left my 4c natural hair cleansed and detangled.

LOVE how this leaves my hair looking! I have naturally curly hair, on the thicker side, also dyed in henna. I applied as instructed, and found it leaves my hair feeling waxy and straw -like, making it difficult to brush out after. In order to manage the tangles I applied a bit of my commercial bought conditioner (I'm planning on ordering Henna Sooq's detangler to see if it's a better fit) and rinsed. I styled as usual and let it air dry. My curls feel rich, bouncy, full and thick. My hair will eventually start feeling a bit greasy (something that didn't happen with my commercial bought shampoos). If it becomes unmanageable I just take it as a sign that it's time to wash my hair out again and then it becomes fabulous all over again!
no more shedding!

Good product! I mixed with the Mad Moisture Shampoo bar with the Cocoveda bar together and my hair was very soft and I noticed that my hair hasn't been shedding as much which WAS a problem for me, thank you. ...I think I have found the right products for my hair with henna sooq☺
Best shampoo bar!

This is it! This shampoo bar does everything (and more) the label says. I purchased the sample size because I thought it would just dry out my hair as I have experienced with other products that claim to be moisturizing. There are no suds, but it really does clean AND MOISTURIZE at the same time! My hair felt so silky as I shampooed with the bar, even as I rinsed. I have not been much of a fan of the co-wash movement for my tresses, but this product truly does both- cleanses AND moisturizes. I will be purchasing the full size bar soon.
Baby fine results!

Wow! I have never used a shampoo bar to wash my hair - I am totally impressed! My hair felt like silk after rinsing - and my scalp was completely clean. I did have trouble working the soap into my hair, I even broke into small pieces. I would appreciate any suggestions on an easier method to apply.
Not for me

I had super duper high hopes for this product because I have very thick hair that usually loves ultra-moisturizing products. My hair is also dyed with henna, so I thought this would help keep the color from fading too quickly. However, it made my hair greasy and actually seemed to dull the color just a tad. I suppose it's just too rich for my hair. It's pleasant to use on the body, though.
Reply from HS: We're sorry to hear the Cocoveda bar didn't work out for you. It's true that some bars don't always work out. We'd recommend our Soapnut shampoo bar as that is typically a better fit for many of our clients. Also a ACV rinse would help balance out that more then greasy feeling in the hair that can occur. We hope this helps.
first experience, i will be trying more

this was my first experience with the shampoo bar. I am personally not a huge fan of shampoos but I do find this one to be quite delightful in comparison to the ones I've tried in the past. There isn't a great deal of lather, which is okay with me and I think the product smells great. I cut the bar into about 8 pieces and was able to get about 3 washes from each in my bra length natural 4a/bish kinky curly hair. My hair always feels squeaky clean and takes to styling very well after using this product. A great value in my opinion for a great natural product. I will be trying more of these.
Best shampoo bar I've ever used
Posted by Chloe on 20th Nov 2014
I've used veg (I'm vegan) shampoo bars from two other lines in the past few years. I strongly dislike liquid shampoo products so much so that I won't touch them. And many shampoo bars are too stripping. This product is AMAZING!!! I love that I can use one product for my hair and body. This conditions my elbow length virgin (henna) hair perfectly. No other conditioner needed in the shower for me. Perfection. I follow with Cocoveda hair oil out of the shower. I do a short scalp massage with the oil daily.
