Savannah's hair regimen and recipe:
"I’ve been using henna to dye my hair for a little over a year now and I love it! I used to bleach my hair blonde for years and have had every color of hair under the sun…needless to say my hair was fried, and badly damaged. I tried every product in the store to try to restore my hair and nothing worked, until I did some research online and stumbled upon henna. I was a bit skeptical at first, after all, I tried every salon product out there and nothing worked well, so how will a little plant help? Boy was I surprised! I bought henna, indigo and amla powders online, mixed them together and after many hours and quite a mess, my hair looked gorgeous! I’ve been using henna for over a year now to dye my hair a perfect shade of auburn brown.
My recipe is as follows…
200g of henna powder 100g of Indigo powder 50 g of Amla powder
I mix up the henna with lemon juice the night before I want to dye my hair, let it sit overnight, then I mix the indigo and amla powders with warm water and add them to my henna mix. Let it sit on my hair for 3-4 hours, rinse and voila!
I love the way my hair looks and how fast it grows now. I’m always getting compliments from people about how nice and shiny my hair is. I will never go back to commercial hair dyes again."

I've worn red hair for as long as I can remember. Since I'm gray I color my hair every six weeks or so. I like this product because it is not as drying as chemical dyes. I will definitely use this again.

First time beginner

Well, I was in the market for a hair dye primarily to cover my incoming grays *side eye*...I'm 3 years post relaxer and did not want any chemical additives AT ALL. I wanted something colorful --but not too much-- and different and healthy. I wanted it all lol. My hair ranges from 10-14 inches in length. Black, probably 3cish hair type. Never one to make spur of the moment decisions, I researched, researched and researched and decided to try Henna. Although I was nervous about the "permanent" factor, I still figured why not. Again, research. This led me to Henna Sooq. Of course there are tons of recipes going around and so I decided I would focus on color first and then more about conditioning. That would determine which recipe I'd use. I was wanting a dark red/burgundy color. And I decided to go with Rajasthani --adding Hisbiscus and Hisbiscus tea to give it a hopefully darker red appearance. First, I ordered my product on a Monday and received it that same Friday. It had a handwritten "thank you" on the receipt which I thought was a nice, warm touch. I'm all about hospitality. So now, the nerves are setting in. When to do it, what's the turnaround time...to patch test or not to patch test. Yikes! So, Saturday morning I make a mixture of the Henna, hisbiscus, tea and a splash of lemon juice. of course, without fail, I screw up going out the gate. I steeped my tea and was ready to just dive in and used really hot water. that wasn't my intention (from all my researching). But let's proceed. Now, how long for the forever more important "color release"??? Wait..what? Will the hot water affect the color release time? how do I know. what color is it supposed to be using hisbiscus? so I give it an hour... it was really orangey looking, so I'm like great, here we go. I apply as instructed (an I'm realizing I should have used more product as a first application and having really thick hair), but I get the job done. I continue to wrap my head in saran wrap, covered by a plastic cap and tie it up with a scarf, hoping this heat release will work. So now, how long to wait. I set a time for 10 hours, but again, me being impatient was ready to rinse in about 4 hours. I definitely had the grays covered, but that's about it. They were kinda orange, but 3 days later have neutralized to a nice red/brownish. But I still didn't have my burgundy effect I wanted. So, I decided I'd do another run this weekend...since it was virgin hair to begin with. Also, it appears some of my curl pattern has "relaxed" some, which isn't a horrible thing, but I will be getting some Amla to counteract that. I do have a nice glossy finish. It's not dry per se, but I did deep condition right after. I'm thinking of trying this on my daughter's hair (11 yr. old). she's experienced a lot of dryness from swimming and maybe this will help her bounce back. I'll let you guys know.
This is the real deal

Best Hair Color

I wanted to dye my hair burgundy which didn't turn out to well...so I gave henna a try (like I should have) and I love the color change. It looks natural and not dramatic. And my hair felt like butter washing it out and the shine my wash n go has is incredible. (Follow me on IG @TamaraShaniece to catch my hair/hennasooq pics
Hummmm, grey strains.

First time coloring, the Henna only covered a few of my grey strains. I have black dreadlocks and seeking a rich burgundy and/or juicy red color. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. Beet root was included in my recipe, still didn't get the color I wanted to achieve.
HS Reply: For a deeper richer result we really recommend you use our Red Raj as it has a higher dye content. You'll love it!
Health benefits through the roof

This was my first time trying henna. I had read about all the benefits and finally decided to give it a try. I have thick, dark, 3a/3b type curly hair that falls to mid-back. I used 2 packets. I probably could have done better to spread it in but there is a slight difference in my hair color. Almost a reddish glow that brightens in the sun. Ultimately, what I really appreciated was that it really did remove all traces of dandruff and made my hair and scalp feel healthy and clean. Something the over the counter dandruff shampoos failed to do. I was also worried it would effect my curl pattern but was very happy to see that it did not at all! If anything I've noticed my curls are more springy which could be the result of how healthy it feels. I definitely recommend it and plan to buy from henna sooq in the future!

I'm a red raj girl, it was out of stock, this was the closest to it, it was a nice replacement rinsed out with ease, gave similar color. Nice find will definitely purchase when red raj is out of stock.
