Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
This is our favorite essential oil for our henna body art recipe. This is considered a "terp". A terp is the term used to describe certain essential oils that give henna paste a richer color. Our lavender is one of them. It's also the most mildest, and safe for use on pregnant women, elderly, and children.
This Lavender possesses a beautiful fresh and sweet powdery aroma. Lavender is one of the most versatile oils there is. Lavender is analgesic, anti-microbial, anti-fungal anti-inflammatory and has for centuries been used for its beneficial effect on skin, soothing burns and healing wounds, stimulating the growth of skin cells, treating eczema and psoriasis. Lavender is used as an anti-depressant and the high linalool and linalyl acetate in Lavender have been demonstrated to have anti-anxiety, stress reducing effects. Diffused Lavender oil has also been reported to relieve tension headaches.
Do not take essential oils internally.

I am so happy I decided to add this to my order last minute. The lavender oil smells so good it smells sweet! My husband loves lavender and after sniffing the bottle he used some on his back before going to bed and slept the entire night instead of his usual Rossi and turning. I will be keeping a steady stock of this in the house! Can't wait to add to my henna for my next treatment

Lavender is a calming scent. My skin is dry and itchy. I add a few drops of this organic lavender essential oil to my DIY skin exfoliant and body butter.
