Exactly what I wanted

The Red Raj Henna was much creamier and easier to apply than other brands I have used before, and it washed out easier, too. The color results were perfect and it made my hair feel amazing! Definitely will buy this again!
Couldn't get dye to release
Posted by Rin on 18th May 2017
I've used henna since I graduated high school, so it's been about six years. I've always used Jamila but got a little tired of my hair turning more brassy than anything and wanted a deeper red. In comes Red Raj. Firstly, I've had to wait forever to order this stuff. Every time I came on this site with extra spending money, it was always out of stock and an ETA listed. So I finally got my hands on it a few days ago. Now, I don't like adding anything special to my henna paste. No black tea or lavender - just straight hot, distilled water and lemon juice. That's it. Got it to a good consistency, let it sit overnight, and 12 hours later, the paste barely even stains my palm. So I threw it back in the freezer for a day (as this site recommended if there's difficulty releasing the dye), thawed it out, adding some more lemon juice, and let it sit for about 4 hours. Still, no dye release. I'm incredibly disappointed with this henna. There's nothing I can think of that would cause it to not release. I've never experienced this issue with Jamila, and I didn't have to wait months for it to come in stock to be sorely disappointed. Will not buy again.
HS: Thank you for your review. One important part of your review is that you let it sit out overnight. Is there a reason you didn't follow the steps we recommend on the back of our package for our Red Raj? Every product we carry and especially our Red Raj is not like other brands or products out there. It's very important to follow our directions to ensure best results. Red Raj needs to sit only 3-4 hours for best results not overnight. Letting it sit out overnight, unfortunately you've allowed the dye to demise. Your end results are what occurred for you. Should you have other questions or concerns please do feel free to reach out to us directly. We support out clients and want them to have 100% success with our products. - Khadija

I used Jamila henna in January for the first time. Like it!
Ordered Red Raj in February . Love it! It rinses out so much better than jamila henna in my opinion. I'm still learning about henna and trying different recipes. Definitely purchasing Red Raj again.
The only henna for me

I've been using henna for years, and this stuff is hands-down the best. It has a super-creamy consistency that is a pleasure to work with. The dye content is truly sublime. Yes, it's a little pricier than other hennas on the market, but well worth it!
Amazing deep red

I was so skeptical at first; I had been dying my hair with LUSH caca brun for about 6 months and was no longer satisfied with the results; even after leaving it on for 12 hours at a time, 4 applications later, my hair was a washed out mess of light brown, mahogany and orange.
I want a deep deep wow factor red. After much research I discovered the sterling reviews of Red Raj and finally decided to try it. I was apprehensive as I had avoided pure henna mixes in the past because of the fear of getting the ginger red/orange as opposed to the seemingly unachievable deep dimensional ruby red.
My mixture was:
100g Red Raj
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 cups of water (around)
I got dye release after 1-2 hours so I slathered it on and put it under two shower caps and a towel wrap and left it on for 12 hours. A slight mishap was the morning when I discovered the henna was "melting" and started running all down my back onto my floor, so I rushed to the shower.
At first my colour was the brightest deep orange red I could imagine. It was not what I had hoped for but the colour was stunning nontheless. Complete saturation and depth of colour and total dye takeup.
However I was not prepared for 24 hours of oxidation later: my hair became the deepest ruby red I could've hoped for!! I am completely ecstatic with this colour! It appears very red mahogany indoors and bright red outdoors (when I say red I mean RED, not orange!)
Highly recommend if this is the colour you'd like to achieve! Just watch out for the "melting" after you sleep with it, it caught me off guard and it does stain very very quickly!
Will be buying this again!

I have been dying my hair red with chemical dye for the last 7 years. This was my first experience purchasing/dying my hair with henna, and I could not have gotten better results! I wish I had been introduced to it sooner. I prepared my henna mixture using half water, half apple cider vinegar, and the free henna kiss I received for ordering in February, let the mixture sit overnight, and applied it to my hair the next morning. I kept it in my hair for about 3 hours. After rinsing it out, I found my hair to be a coppery red color, which I didn't mind, but it's now days later and it has transformed into this beautiful shade of red. My hair is also shinier, softer, and much thicker-feeling, which is amazing considering I have such fine, thin hair naturally. Also, I was surprised to see my skin didn't really stain at all around my hairline and ears, even without any protection. I have plenty leftover in the freezer for my next application in 5-6 weeks, but as soon as I'm out, I will definitely be ordering more Red Raj from Henna Sooq! Say no to chemicals!

I was happy with the product. It worked per the instructions but I wanted the color to be deeper so I will have to use it again to see if that happens.

This henna is one of the first I've ever tried and the reason I LOVE henna! I have dark brown (almost black) kinky/coil hair and this henna was the first to show some color. If you're really trying to get color payoff this and the Rajasthani Indian henna are your best bets imo.

This product has given my fine, Irish hair a major boost! I have had so many compliments on the color and tone of Red Raj. I have been using the product a little under year, and for the first time ever, my hair has been strong and healthy enough for me to grow it waist length! Thank you Henna Sooq!
