Savannah's hair regimen and recipe:

"I’ve been using henna to dye my hair for a little over a year now and I love it! I used to bleach my hair blonde for years and have had every color of hair under the sun…needless to say my hair was fried, and badly damaged. I tried every product in the store to try to restore my hair and nothing worked, until I did some research online and stumbled upon henna. I was a bit skeptical at first, after all, I tried every salon product out there and nothing worked well, so how will a little plant help? Boy was I surprised! I bought henna, indigo and amla powders online, mixed them together and after many hours and quite a mess, my hair looked gorgeous! I’ve been using henna for over a year now to dye my hair a perfect shade of auburn brown.

My recipe is as follows…

200g of henna powder 100g of Indigo powder 50 g of Amla powder

I mix up the henna with lemon juice the night before I want to dye my hair, let it sit overnight, then I mix the indigo and amla powders with warm water and add them to my henna mix. Let it sit on my hair for 3-4 hours, rinse and voila!

I love the way my hair looks and how fast it grows now. I’m always getting compliments from people about how nice and shiny my hair is. I will never go back to commercial hair dyes again."

I use this henna to make paste for mehndi. I've gotten really good color and nice consistancy from this product. Tickled to be able to get it on sale!

I am really pleased with the results! I mixed the henna with coconut milk and let sit for 8 hours. After 8 hours I added in 2 tbsps of lemon juice and warm water until I got the consistency that I wanted. I applied the henna paste and left it on for 10 hours. I know everyone says not to mix coconut milk in if you want more dye release but I still managed to get really good dye release. My hands are still a pumpkin orange color from applying the henna. And 3 days later, after the dye has finally settled, I have a really nice burgundy color in my hair! It’s so pretty! In the past, I used Jamila henna but found it to be too red-orange. This henna is definitely more complimentary for me and my skin tone! My hair felt stronger, my curls were poppin, and my hair is so moisturized! I Will buy the fresh Rajasthani henna for my application later this month!

I’ve used henna to color my hair several times now, but this was my first experience using BAQ henna. Let me tell you, I will never be going back to my old brand! The texture of the paste was silky smooth - not grainy or lumpy at all. I mixed with herbal tea and let it sit overnight on my “comic book copper” hair. It pushed the color to a deeper crimson, which is probably the darkest my bleached hair will go with henna. The rinsing was a breeze, and my hair feels silky and looks wonderfully glossy! I will be a repeat customer for sure - thanks, hennasooq!!

I left this on my hair for only 1.5 hours and got a beautiful dark coppery red! I'm in love with this henna!

I mixed it with hot tea and a dash of aloe vera powder, and it was so easy to apply and rinse out, easier than the Jamila I previously used. I'll definitely be buying more when this runs out!
