Savannah's hair regimen and recipe:

"I’ve been using henna to dye my hair for a little over a year now and I love it! I used to bleach my hair blonde for years and have had every color of hair under the sun…needless to say my hair was fried, and badly damaged. I tried every product in the store to try to restore my hair and nothing worked, until I did some research online and stumbled upon henna. I was a bit skeptical at first, after all, I tried every salon product out there and nothing worked well, so how will a little plant help? Boy was I surprised! I bought henna, indigo and amla powders online, mixed them together and after many hours and quite a mess, my hair looked gorgeous! I’ve been using henna for over a year now to dye my hair a perfect shade of auburn brown.

My recipe is as follows…

200g of henna powder 100g of Indigo powder 50 g of Amla powder

I mix up the henna with lemon juice the night before I want to dye my hair, let it sit overnight, then I mix the indigo and amla powders with warm water and add them to my henna mix. Let it sit on my hair for 3-4 hours, rinse and voila!

I love the way my hair looks and how fast it grows now. I’m always getting compliments from people about how nice and shiny my hair is. I will never go back to commercial hair dyes again."

  • Henna

Well this particular henna really does take to my white hair, but it's not burgundy more of a deep firing red. It didn't fade even after I washed my hair, I washed it twice with shampoo the following day LOL.

HS Reply: For build up to a burgundy tone please allow at least 3-4 applications and it'll show up beautifully!

  • Darkest Stain I’ve ever had

I bought this to test it out of my henna body art, and I am beyond speechless. The stain is just pitch dark, the henna was sifted well I didn’t have to sift. It was silky smooth and the stain is so amazing I’m definitely gonna purchase more in the future! I’d recommend this for anyone for body or hair. Stunning results I’m just insanely impressed.

  • Not sure

I used this and followed the instructions, leaving this to sit for 4 hours and then 6 hours on my head.(plus pure warm water) I didn't get any changes in my color(I have blonde and light orange hair) I'll use it again but I've already shaved my head. I love henna in general but I really wanted this color to stick

HS Reply: It sounds like you only used warm water which is great but you got the same orange tone? Sounds about right though too. It should be a little brighter reddish and then you also used indigo. Not really sure what might have happened but did you take any photos? Please email us at
